Religious Moderation for ASN: An Important Foundation in Community Service
"Religious moderation is essentially an endeavor, a process, an endless effort, an effort to how to build religious perspectives, attitudes, and practices in common life. Religious moderation must be owned by every single Civil Servants (ASN) because it is an important foundation in providing services to the community."
This was conveyed by H. Jaelani Ibrahim, S.Pd., M.Pd, Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Central Lombok Regency in opening ceremony of the Training on Strengthening Religious Moderation Initiators Batch VIII.
The
Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Central Lombok Regency added that
religious moderation always brings peace between religious people.
"The differences existing are not a barrier to communicating and interacting for each other. But it is the motivation to coexist. Different is beautiful. It is more beautiful if we understand and honour each other. Moreover, Indonesia is built by differences. Different tribes, cultural languages and religions." asserted Jaelani
Furthermore, the former Head of the NTB Provincial Subdivision emphasized that the religious diversity that exists in Indonesia today, is not new issue.
However, due to the rampant extremist thinking that exists today, it is felt necessary to provide a deepening of material related to religious moderation for ASN. Especially asn within the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Central Lombok RegencyJaelani reminded the importance of Strengthening Religious Moderation, which is a Priority Program of the Minister of Religious Affairs as a derivative of the mandate of the RPJMN and the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Religious Affairs for 2020-2024.
"Religious Moderation is one of the seven priority programs of the Minister, which must be understood by the entire Civil Servant (ASN) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, therefore, it is a duty and responsibility throughout the Asn of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, to provide a correct understanding of Religious Moderation, so that an attitude of tolerance and mutual respect and respect for fellow nation's children arises. So that the community lives, peace and harmony," the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Central Lombok Regency.
At the end of his remarks, the man who was born in Kediri, 57 years ago, hoped to be a driver for strengthening religious moderation in their respective regions.
"The output of this activity is hopefully to give birth to moderate cadres who can truly understand, understand and apply in the life of the nation and state, because there are many misperceptions in society as if religion is moderated, so that resistance and rejection arise from some people.
